History The Process Products Marketing Quality Control Raw Materials History The company was founded in 1986 when owner John J. Oliver acquired the Plymouth, Indiana facility. In 1993 the ALMEG facility located at Henrietta, Missouri was added. Both plants have operated for more than 35 years and now comprise the only facilities in the U.S. engaged in the processing of industrially generated laminated aluminum foil scrap and the subsequent manufacture of secondary aluminum granules. The Process Aluminum foil is recovered by the removal of organic laminates (i.e. paper, plastic). The metal is then processed into a broad range of customized aluminum granules. Other processes include blending and briquetting. Products There are a variety of uses for aluminum granules. The high energy value inherent in aluminum makes it particularly attractive for exothermic applications. Particular physical characteristics of aluminum foil granules, including a high surface area to weight ratio, offer additional essential reactivity benefits for exothermic uses. Aluminum foil granules make excellent natural binders and provide important benefits to the Master Alloy industry when producing briquetted minerals. Other products are designed for the industrial explosives, steel, chemical, ferro alloy, thermite, refractory, epoxy filler, abrasive and drain cleaner industries. Quality Control All of our products are subjected to a rigid certification process. We are particularly adept at harmonizing customer QC requirements into our system. Our entire system is integrated and uncompromising. We operate a fully equipped laboratory and quality system to assure our products meet or exceed specifications. Raw Materials As the major U.S. processor of Laminated Aluminum Foil scrap, we provide a logical market for laminators, converters and other producers of foil content products. The aluminum must be .000XX" gauge and the aluminum content of the scrap must be at least 18%. If you are sending such scrap to a landfill or are otherwise interested in having it processed by us, please contact Joyce M. Klingerman, Executive Vice President. We also purchase .000XX" gauge virgin foil and 2000/7000 series turnings.
